Frequently Asked Questions
What skill level is required?
All skill levels are welcome. Some classes are definitely more difficult than others, but our instructors and knowledgable volunteers are happy to help you along the way.
Do I really need to wear safety equipment?
Yes. All classes require that students use safety equipment while in the machine room. Eye protection is mandatory, hearing and dust protection are recommended.
Is there parking available?
Yes. There are plenty of parking spaces in front of the school.
Should I bring lunch?
You are welcome to bring your own lunch; there is a fridge and microwave available in the break room. We’ll also set out menus from local eateries for those wanting to order lunch. Please bring cash if you are interested in ordering out.
Are all materials provided?
Materials and supplies will be provided for most classes. Please check each individual class page to verify.
Do we fully complete the project?
No. You will have all parts machined and dry assembled for the entire project by the end of the class. Sanding, detail work, and finishing can be completed on your own. We will provide you with a set of instructions for a suggested way to finish your project.
I flew in from out of the area, can you ship my project back to me?
Yes. We can help pack your project and ship it for you if you live out of the area and can’t take it with you on the last day. Shipping fee to be determined on a case by case basis.
Do you have wireless internet?
Yes. The password will be provided upon request.
What is your cancellation policy?
Should any student need to cancel, it should be cancelled at least thirty days prior to the class commencing (minus a $40 cancellation fee). This allows us to book someone else for the class. Inside thirty days, we unfortunately can't give refunds. Exceptional circumstances would be considered.
What's included with each project?
Each class includes a downloadable set of plans for both the project and all jigs, access to all videos, and priority support for any woodworking related questions. Some classes may include additional benefits, so please check the class page for a full list.
What tools do I need?
Please check each individual class page for a comprehensive list of all tools and accessories. While we may use a specific tool for a specific task, there are many ways to achieve the same result. Additionally, throughout the class we will introduce alternative ways to complete certain tasks. In general, the only potential purchase required may be a specific bit or accessory.
How long do I have access to the class?
As long as this site exists. If for any reason we decide to remove all content, you’ll be notified in advance and have the opportunity to download the videos you have access to.
When will I receive the items I ordered?
As we are running classes most days of the year, orders may be fulfilled at varying times. But typically we send all items priority mail, which should have them being delivered shortly after you receive your tracking information. Refer to your tracking number for a more accurate delivery date.
What is the return policy?
If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, you may return the item within thirty days for a full refund minus any shipping costs. All returned items must be in new condition, in their original unaltered box, and must include all packing material, manuals and accessories. All returns are subject to a fifteen percent re-stocking fee. Please allow one week for a credit to appear on your account.
