Blacker House Inspired Chair with William Ng

Inlay Techniques in the G & G Style


In this class we will be covering basic inlay techniques from design, materials, cutting, fitting, gluing up, to finishing. We'll proceed with more advanced techniques used in some of the Greene & Greene furniture. We will be dealing with materials such as shells, silver, brass, wood, plastic, and any material that we can cut, which is almost endless. Finishing Techniques With Brian Miller


This class will give every student a thorough understanding of the finishing process. It will cover all aspects of wood finishing: Proper sanding techniques, coloring wood (dyes, stains, chemical and plant dyes), color-matching, membrane finishes (shellac, varnish, lacquer) and understanding solvents and their use in the finishing process. We will also explore hand-rubbed finishes, shading and toning, making your own custom stains and finishes and stripping/refinishing furniture and cabinetry. Making Custom Cabinets with Taeho Kwon


In this class, we will cover different methods and techniques for cabinet construction. These methods can be applied to building kitchens, vanities, entertainment unit, build-in, home theaters or just a stand alone cabinet. Guitar Making with Eric Nichols


In this class, the goal is to construct a Dreadnought style acoustic steel string guitar.
