Sculpted Dining Chair with William Ng (2/25/13 – 3/2/13)
This six day sculpted chair class will definitely broaden and raise your woodworking skills a few notches. The class will cover topics such as chair joinery, design, placement of back spindle for comfort, defining hard and soft lines, sculpting using various methods such as grinder, rasps, gouges, scrapers and spoke shaves. Cherry wood will be prepared for you before you arrive to save on milling time. This will allow more time dedicated to learning many different techniques in chair construction. William will also show you some of his “tricks of the trade” in getting quick, fast, dead on accurate results.
William Ng comes from an engineering background and uses a similar approach in his woodworking. Precision, accuracy and efficiency are emphasized in his teaching. His sense of humor, combined with his passion for woodworking makes for an enjoyable learning experience.
